Another doctor visit
My visits to the doctor are getting more frequent now. It's been two weeks since I was last there. I was hopeful that when I got on the scale it would have been the same slow weight as last time, but nope.....I gained 4 pounds in 2 weeks. I asked the doctor if he could predict the size of the baby. According to the ultrasound I had on September 15th, she was just over 4 lbs. at that point. I guess we'll see how much growing happens in the next 6 weeks. I think it's supposed to be a lot (maybe 1/2 their weight). Everything looks good. My placenta has moved out of the way so the birth canal is free and clear for baby to slip on out. Let's hope it's as easy as that!!!!

A splendid surprise
I like to think that I can pick up on things and figure out when people are up to something. I have to admit that I was clueless as to this weekend's surprise baby shower thrown by Di and Suzi. Everyone involved really had me duped. I had no reason to believe nothing would be planned as there was so much going on in everyone's life. I was quite content to wait until the baby was born, an in fact avoid the whole thing all together.
So off I went on my merry way on Saturday, convinced I was attending Marley's 1st birthday party. That morning I even made sure I went out to get her a birthday card. I was surprised and a bit confused at first to see my friends with cameras, yelling surprise.
This was a very lovely Disney tea-themed afternoon. I liked that it was low-key, I got to spend time with friends and I didn't feel like the center of attention. Even when opening presents, it seemed to be done in a nice casual way. I of course did not take any pictures with my camera so ladies, please send them my way. You can check some of them out on Sally and Di's blogs.
Thank you everyone! It meant a lot to share this milestone with you.

Ultrasound at 32.5 weeks
I realize some of you have been waiting patiently for the results of my ultrasound. It still looks like a girl. She seems so peaceful here. I hope that continues when she comes out into the real world.
I have to wait until my doctor's appointment to find out if my placenta has moved but the ultrasound tech did not seem worried about anything. She said the baby has turned and is sitting low. I hope not too low. I'm not quite ready for her to come out. I still have some stuff to take care of.

32 Weeks
Here I am at 32 weeks. I had my check-up with my doctor and thankfully hadn't gained that much since 3 weeks ago. I'm at 156 lbs. I believe I'm supposed to slow down on my weight gain for now. That's good because I don't think I could handle putting on another 16- 20 pounds over the next 2 months. The baby is quite active and loves to play with Daddy. Funnily that when anyone else puts their hand on my tummy the baby doesn't move but when Raju does, in a few minutes baby is moving and kicking. Unfortunately he likes to do this at night when I am trying to sleep and get baby to sleep (you know - the early training thing). I just said to him, if baby keeps this up once born he can take care of the baby at night since he is encouraging such behaviour.
We go for another ultrasound Thursday just to check and make sure everything is where it should be and that my placenta has moved to clear the way for baby to slip on out of me. Hopefully we can get a better look to confirm if it's a girl or boy.
It's hard to believe that in a few months this little ball will be out of my tummy. There are still a few things to do around the house and I need to make sure I have the baby essentials but I think we're as ready as we're going to be. I'm not quite ready for baby to come out yet though, so she/he can continue to hang out in my belly for a little while longer.

Weird Sensations
Baby has been very active lately and the movements are very weird. She/He is not kicking so much anymore but rolling. It is such a strange feeling and sometimes a bit painful. I'm happy to feel the moving and encourage it during the day but it is hard to get used to. Yesterday I pushed down and baby pushed back so I had Raju do it too and baby wanted to play with him too.
It's still hard to believe that I have this little human in my belly and in just a few months will come out and we'll have to take care of it.
Hopefully it will get all it's energy out now and be a calm child out in the real world.

Nursery
Today Camilla came over and helped me (by help, I mean she did it) put the crib together and put up some of my Mickey Wall decals.
Here's the start of the nursery:
When it's complete and tidy I'll post some more pictures.

Monthly Check-in with the doctor
Today I had my monthly check in with my OB. I weighed in at 155 lbs, which I felt was better than last month's weigh in....although now that I think about it, it's only 1 lb less. Everything looked good except I had some protein in my urine. I was sent to the lab to give a urine specimen to see if I have a bladder infection. If so, I have to take antibiotics to clear it up. I don't feel like there is anything wrong with me, so hopefully it's just a fluke. My glucose test results came back and they were fine so fortunately no gestational diabetes for me.
My next check up is in 3 weeks. I guess since I'm getting closer the visits will become more frequent. Just after that check up I will have another ultra-sound to check and see if my placenta has moved out of the way so baby can slide on out.
Just about 10 more weeks to go. Can hardly wait to meet this little one inside of me.
