..and I don't like it.
Just when I thought I was feeling better it seems as if I have taken a step backwards. I should have known this was going to happen. All week just after I've had something in the morning I go through 5 minutes of gagging and willing myself not to throw up. That usually does the trick and I get on with my day. This morning I was not so lucky. I woke up around 7:00a.m. came downstairs and made some toast. I got about half way through my first slice and knew I wouldn't be able to eat more, so I gave the second piece to Raju. I then went upstairs to do some work. At about 8:15a.m. I could tell I just wasn't feeling right. I came downstairs for a mint, but instead found myself in the downstairs bathroom with my head in the toilet. Fortunately, it wasn't too bad and not like the times after a heavy night of drinking.
I persevered though and went to the mall with Raju for a bit. It may not have been the smartest thing to do, but I managed. We came back home and then I slept for a solid 3 hours. Again, wasting a lovely day. I woke up and we decided to go for a walk. Fresh air seems to help a bit.
On the positive side, at least I know the baby is up to something and wasn't there some study that the sicker you are the smarter the baby?

Ultrasound Pictures - Finally
As promised here's babies for 12 weeks progress. I can't figure out how to add circles around where baby is in the pictures so you're going to have to try and find it for yourself.

Baby being implanted into uterus (2 embryos). Look at the bright spot to the left of the picture.

Baby at 6 weeks 2 days. Looks like a small beehive near the top of my uterus

Baby at 7 weeks 2 days. Starting to get a bit bigger, but what's the circle attached to it?

Baby at 9 weeks 2 days. Still not sure what the circle hear the head is.

Baby at 10 weeks 6 days. This really isn't a good clear picture at all. I think head is to the left and foot on the right.

A Good Energy Day!
Wow...I can't believe the difference from a few days ago. I don't want to jinx anything but it looks like my nausea might be subsiding and I'm getting back a bit of energy. This past week Raju and I ate out 3 times. I know that's a lot, but considering I haven't been able to eat much that was progress. Today was jam packed with stuff. I started the day with Acupuncture, followed by a quick visit to Fariena's, then it was on to Dixie Outlet Mall. I spent $200 at Thyme maternity but managed to pick up a pair of jeans, 2 work pants, a dress, and 2 bras. Fariena also lent me a couple of tops. I tried them all on again when I got home and felt like I looked normal. Some people had suggested I just buy bigger sizes of regular clothes but I have to admit, I quite enjoyed still buying a size small but getting the maternity panel that made it feel better.
Back at home, it was a quick stop for lunch (Kraft Dinner) and then it was off to the grocery store and Canadian Tire. I made it through grocery shopping without feeling sick...yeah!!!
By this time I was feeling a bit tuckered out, so I caught up on 30 Rock and General Hospital and then was up and at it again. In went laundry, and then it was time to make dinner. Raju still most of it, but that was because I was busy baking cookies. It felt really good to get flour on my hands again. I've missed it.
I don't want to overdo it, so that's it for today. Tomorrow.....cleaning the bathrooms...

1st Doctor Visit
Today Raju and I headed to Sunnybrook for our first Doctor's visit with the OB. Our doctor's name is Arthur Zaltz. A colleague at work had him as well and said he is really good. I wasn't quite sure what to expect as there were mixed reviews on the Internet. Also, after being at the clinic for so long, I'm used to appointments that consist of ultrasound, blood work and a visit with the doctor. This visit was very different. I peed on a stick, had my weight taken (130 lbs) and then met with an intern and then the doctor. The intern took my blood pressure and checked my lungs and asked a ton of questions. Dr. Zaltz was great, he was laid back, funny and personable. We also got to hear the heart beat for the first time. But I especially loved no poking or prodding and I don't have to go back for a whole month. The only bad thing is the cost of parking at Sunnybrook, but considering the amount of money we've spent on this baby already what's a little more?
